ITU World Radiocommunication Seminar 2020 (WRS-20)
30 Nov. – 11 Dec. 2020 - Geneva, Switzerland
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organizes seminars every two years. The main objective of these events is to provide training on software and techniques related to terrestrial and space services. Additionally, they address regulatory issues in radio communications and review the agendas for upcoming conferences, such as in 2023.
In the 2020 seminar, in addition to the aforementioned topics, non-Geostationary Orbit (non-GSO) satellites and their associated parameters were evaluated based on ITU-R Recommendation S.1503. This recommendation aims to establish standards and guidelines for non-geostationary satellites moving in non-synchronous orbits.
These seminars serve as opportunities for information exchange, training, and addressing current challenges in the field of telecommunications. They act as meeting points for members and experts in the industry, facilitating discussions on the direction and development of telecommunications and communication technologies.
In this seminar, the following objectives were achieved:
- Awareness of the latest software changes in the space sector, including BR-SIS.
- Utilization of the knowledge and expertise of various professionals, including experts affiliated with this union.
- Enhanced understanding of radio regulations in accordance with the Radio Regulations Handbook.
These accomplishments highlight the participants' acquisition of up-to-date information on software developments in the space sector, the effective utilization of the expertise of diverse professionals, and a deeper understanding of radio regulations aligned with the Radio Regulations Handbook.
